School of Economics and Management, was founded in 1997, evolving from the original Department of Business Administration and Department of Economics and Trade. In 2008, the university restructured its economics and management disciplines and established the International College and the Business School. In 2011, the two Schools were renamed and independently restructured into School of International Economics and School of Finance and Accounting (later renamed the School of Management). TheSchool offers ten undergraduate majors: Financial Management, International Economics and Trade, Auditing, Financial Engineering, Big Data Management and Application, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Logistics Management, E-commerce, and Engineering Cost. Among them, Financial Management and International Economics and Trade are Provincial First-class Majors; Marketing is designated as a Provincial Comprehensive Teaching Reform Pilot Major; Financial Engineering and Human Resource Management are University-level First-class Majors. Currently hosting over 2,500 undergraduate students, the School boasts a well-established discipline layout with distinct educational characteristics.

The School possesses a robust and rationally structured teaching team consisting of 159 full-time and part-time teachers, including 123 full-time teachers. 100% of the faculty hold master’s or higher degrees. 39.84% hold associate senior or above professional titles, and 56.91% are dual-qualified teachers with both academic expertise and industrial practical experience. The School has cultivated 2 Provincial-level Excellent Teaching Teams and 4 University-level Distinguished Teachers, alongside a number of provincial-level advanced teaching administrators, outstanding Party workers and exemplary female teaching staff members. The faculty demonstrates solid academic foundation, outstanding teaching proficiency and strong scientific research capabilities.

Focusing on industry-education integration and teaching reform innovation, the School has built a complete system of high-standard educational platforms. It has jointly constructed 2 modern industrial colleges with leading enterprises including Newdoer Technology and Meilin Data, and established more than 70 stable school-enterprise cooperative bases with renowned enterprises such as Buchang Pharmaceutical and JD Group. The School has obtained 2 industry-education integration research projects approved by the Ministry of Education. Supported by over ten provincial-level quality engineering platforms, including the Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Pilot School, Provincial Economics and Management Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, and Provincial Virtual Simulation Experimental Teaching Center, the School has developed 6 provincial first-class courses and won 2 Second Prizes in Shaanxi Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, marking prominent achievements in teaching reform and quality improvement.

The School has attained fruitful outcomes in scientific research and innovation talent cultivation. Supported by key research platforms including the Xi’an Science and Technology Innovation Think Tank and the Buchang Xixian Economic Research Institute, the School has successfully hosted 8 consecutive sessions of the Xixian Economic Development Forum. It currently operates 3 university-level research platforms and 10 university-level scientific and technological innovation teams. Faculty have presided over more than 100 provincial-level and above research projects, secured 2 municipal and departmental scientific research achievement awards, published 19 academic monographs and over 400 high-level academic papers. Multiple research findings have won provincial and municipal awards and been adopted in governmental decision-making by the Xi’an Municipal Government, with the cumulative scientific research funding exceeding 10 million RMB. In discipline competitions, students have claimed over 1,000 awards at or above the departmental level, including numerous national and provincial gold and silver prizes in major competitions such as the National College Students’ “Internet+” Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the National E-commerce Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Competition. More than 60 national and provincial college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship training programs have been successfully approved.

Committed to internationalized schooling, the School is actively advancing the ACBSP international accreditation process. It has established long-term stable cooperative ties with universities in Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and other countries, co-founding the International Business Institute and regularly carrying out international educational programs such as faculty exchange and transnational academic cooperation.

The School has achieved remarkable results in Party building and ideological education. It has been awarded numerous provincial and national honors, including the National Model Party Branch for Party building, Advanced Grassroots Party Organization of Shaanxi Province, Advanced Collective for Teacher Ethics Construction, and May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Branch.
